"A hepatitis test is also cancer prevention. This slogan on the brochure you received is very relevant. It’s good that Ukrainians in Germany have the opportunity to find out their status regarding viral hepatitis B and C and receive treatment or vaccinations covered by the insurance system. We are pleased to see a large number of active community members in the West who will become ambassadors of knowledge about viral hepatitis,” emphasized Yuriy Voynalovich, Executive Director of the “BCD” Public Organization, moderator and coordinator of the informational event held on March 7 in Oberhausen.
A meeting titled “Hepatitis—How Can I Protect Myself and My Family?” was held at the Kommunales Integrationszentrum in Oberhausen, during which participants learned about vaccination, prevention, and treatment options in Germany.
Natalia Naumova spoke about the vaccination system—where, how, and against what one can get vaccinated.
Kateryna Rykhalska presented the topic “What You Need to Know About Viral Hepatitis B, C, and D: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention in Germany,” highlighting the modern options available to Ukrainians today.
Both topics generated significant interest among the event participants. Guests actively asked questions regarding common myths about viral hepatitis and vaccines.
Viktoriya Usyk provided translation during the event.
During coffee breaks, participants continued lively discussions, addressing important issues.
We would also like to thank our other partners from Gromada UA, who did a wonderful job organizing the venue and coffee breaks, and played and drew with the children. The event took place thanks to the sponsorship of Gilead Sciences and möLab, the organizers of Deutsch Ukrainische Freundschaft Essen, and with technical support from the non-profit organization "BCD" and DACH.
