This is the slogan of a new project encouraging people diagnosed with chronic viral hepatitis C (CVHC) to undergo treatment, which is now available to every resident of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Center for Public Health
, the number of people infected with hepatitis C in Ukraine is estimated at 1.3 million. Approximately 83,000 patients are registered with medical facilities. This means that only 6 out of every 100 infected individuals have officially sought help from medical facilities. 1.217 million people remain “in the shadows.” This accounts for 94% of all patients with chronic viral hepatitis C. Some are unaware of their HCV status.
Others, despite knowing their status, do not seek medical help for the following reasons:
As a result, approximately 80% of cases of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma are caused by viral hepatitis. Viral hepatitis C (HCV) poses a serious threat to public health.

Over the course of the year, the Project Team will debunk the myth that viral hepatitis C is a death sentence. We will share video stories of people who have overcome this disease and speak openly about it. We will create new and modern informational posters featuring people who have overcome this life-threatening but curable disease and will display them in medical facilities, drug treatment centers, and centers that work with people struggling with various types of addiction so that you can learn as much as possible about how Viral Hepatitis C is CURABLE TODAY and where to get information about treatment.
