On January 1, 2020, the civic organization “BSD,” thanks to joint funding from the participatory budget of the village of Nemishaieve, began implementing the project:
We are grateful to the authorities and residents of Nemishaieve for this opportunity, who supported us in the competition. PROJECT GOAL: To provide the population of the village of Nemishaieve with services for the prevention of socially dangerous diseases, manifestations of addictive behavior, and the diagnosis of viral hepatitis.
1. Every week for 5 months, our volunteers will conduct informational sessions at 2 schools in the town of Nemishaieve on the following topics: 1. Prevention of harmful habits (prevention of smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug use). 2. HIV/AIDS prevention. 3. Prevention of early sexual activity and unintended pregnancy. 4. Prevention of bullying and cyberbullying. 5. Foundations of building healthy family relationships (promoting the values of a healthy family). 2. The most active 14- to 15-year-old students will form two teams. They will create a plan and script for conducting prevention activities in the Nemishaieve community. They will present them at the Nemishaieve House of Culture; the winning team will receive valuable prizes. The teams, together with volunteers from the NGO “BSD,” will conduct preventive measures in the Nemishaieve community: -A campaign for residents of Nemishaieve ahead of World Hepatitis Day, aimed at testing everyone who wishes to be tested for Hepatitis C! 3. At the village hospital, we will set up a Space where we will test 500 residents of Nemishaieve for viral Hepatitis C free of charge. If the test result is positive, our volunteers and infectious disease specialists will provide consultations on further diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis through state and alternative programs. 4. At the Space located at the town hospital, family members facing issues with alcohol, drug, or other types of addiction will also be able to receive free assistance.

"Informed Youth, Healthy Community" is the name of the project that won funding from the 2019 Participatory Budget. As part of the project’s activities, on October 7, 2020, at the Nemishaiv Educational Complex, and later at Nemishaiv Secondary School No. 1, two introductory meetings were held for 8th-grade students with Yaroslav Babenko, a volunteer from the “bcd” civic organization and a certified trainer for the ASET program. Throughout October and November, Yaroslav will work with the teenagers on topics that are important to them:
Knowledge that will help them resist temptations in the future and lead healthy, successful lives. Next, the top 5 students will form teams that will work separately with mentors from the "bcd" Community Organization on their own projects for the prevention of socially dangerous diseases—HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis—among the youth and adult population of Nemishaieve. The culmination will be a competition between the projects. All residents of Nemishaieve who are 14 years of age or older will have the opportunity to participate in the voting. The winners will receive gift certificates worth 500 UAH for the COMFY chain, and the second-place team will receive gift certificates worth 300 UAH. The team of the "bcd" Public Organization is sincerely grateful to Alina Fedorenko for her comprehensive support in implementing the project.
