The "Run to Beat Hepatitis!" race took place in Kyiv
Today, July 31, the “Run to Beat Hepatitis!”race took place in Kyiv. It was dedicated to World Hepatitis Day, which is observed annually on July 28. A correspondent for the “DIM” TV channel reports from the scene.
A total of 245 participants ran the 5-kilometer course on Trukhaniv Island.
The main goal of the event was to inform people about the causes and consequences of viral hepatitis, a liver disease. According to statistics, over 2 million Ukrainians are carriers of hepatitis C and are unaware of it because they do not get tested.
Doctors emphasize that hepatitis C is curable in more than 90% of cases.
During the event, attendees could also take a free test for hepatitis C and B and receive medical consultations.
