Today, July 31, the “Run to Beat Hepatitis!”race took place in Kyiv. It was dedicated to World Hepatitis Day, which is observed annually on July 28. A correspondent for the “DIM” TV channel reports from the scene.
A total of 245 participants ran the 5-kilometer course on Trukhaniv Island.
The main goal of the event was to inform people about the causes and consequences of viral hepatitis, a liver disease. According to statistics, over 2 million Ukrainians are carriers of hepatitis C and are unaware of it because they do not get tested.
Doctors emphasize that hepatitis C is curable in more than 90% of cases.

During the event, attendees could also take a free test for hepatitis C and B and receive medical consultations.
